Is it just me?

Is it just me or do you see a resemblance between the Star Wars saga and today's political environment? Is George Lucas the all knowing prophet? Think about it, a senator becomes the Supreme Chancellor (Palpatine) and is granted the highest power in the universe by the governing body (Galactic Senate). Who would have known that he was also the Emperor of Empire. Kinda scary! He controls the Trade Federation, the Bankers Klan, Techno Union and eventually the Clone Army (Stormtroopers).

Meanwhile, there is the Rebel Alliance with the assistance of the Jedi Knights trying to bring balance to the galaxy. I had this thought while watching one of the newest movies in the saga and then I started to assemble the cast:

The Dark Side

Senator Palpatine/Emporer: Barack Obama
Darth Vador: Rahm Emanuel
Count Doku: Joe Biden
Jaba the Hut: Bill Clinton
Gardulla the Hut (Jaba's wife): Hillary Clinton

The Rebels

Luke Skywalker: Bobby Jindal
Princess Leah: Sarah Palin
Han Solo: Shawn Hannity
Chewbacca: Mike Huckabee
Yoda: Ron Paul!
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Pat Buchanan?

Just to name a few, please help with some additions or comments. Remeber a great debate has two sides, it's what keep the balance in The Force!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Not the Government's Job

President Elect Obama says ‘Government can’t do everything’ when it comes to raising a good society. This is the best damn thing I have ever heard come out of his mouth. Now if we can just get him to understand it is not the government's job to do a lot of things.

Couple of quick thoughts and questions to ponder..........Who has the best medical system in the world? Who has the shortest wait time with the best technology? Who has the most qualified and educated doctors, specialist and staff? We do! So why do we need socialized medicine and/or national health care? Really, should I have to pay for someone who eats fast food several times a week and smokes two packs a day to have a bypass?

What industries are remaining that don't have government connections and/or funding in some way, shape or form? I'm having a hard time assembling a list. Does anyone know what the governments true role should be?

The hole is getting deeper and wider.

Please post your comments, let's get the debate started!

With economy in shambles, Congress gets a raise!

OK, let me see if I get this correct. Millions of dollars (my bad, trillions) that comes from tax collection (that's us) has gone to private industries as a bailout. President Bush has now extended billions to the auto companies and now Congress agrees to a pay increase. What the hell is going on! This is the second time that Chrysler has been rescued by the government! How many of you drive Honda's out there? You should be really pissed! Your elected officials voted to increase their pay while telling the management of private industries to decrease theirs.

Under the new administration should I expect a check from my Congressman or Senator? Consider it a refund for the terrible job that they are doing? Maybe I should sit back and wait for the new administration to spread the wealth a bit. Either way, we are traveling down a dark and narrow road, unless of course you want the mightiest and most free nation in the history of mankind to become socialist. Not me, I would rather be free!!!!!!

What we Need!

What this country needs is a good, ole fashion butt spanking. I'm not talking about terrorist attacks, I'm talking about when your dad gets home from work spanking. We have lived beyond our means and not been responsible for our actions. We buy, buy, buy! which keeps sending money to Chinese manufacturers (because we don't make anything). We keep running up our debt as our kids watch as we use plastic everywhere we go. My son asked the other day, why we don't use money? Why do we use cards?

It's all because we have become lazy. We need a good butt spanking and then get our asses back to work.

My simple thoughts

I don't claim to be a complicated person nor one of much intelligence but I do believe that I have a passion to help get this once mighty nation back on track. Is it going to be easy? No way! Will people have to make sacrifices? You bet! Are the people of today tuff enough and willing to make these sacrifices? I don't think so!

Think about it....Most of the great soldiers who fought for the freedom of this land, from the British, did it without boots in the middle of winter. Would you put yourself through that kind of environment? They were cold, wet, hungry and frostbitten and they still pushed forward. All for what? a paycheck? a new government owned home? Free food? I don't think so.... They did it for freedom, liberty & the pursuit of happiness!

Again I ask, are you willing to give up certain privileges of today to secure our freedoms for the future? The test is coming soon.....Will you be ready? We don't know what the future holds but, we can prepare ourselves.
